Once you have cleared Immagration, collected your bags and passed through Customs, find the booth selling transport tickets. Buy one ticket per passenger. Exit the airport. You will find a bustle of white vans loading passengers and gear. All this is being coordinated by a few gentlemen near the exit. Show them your passes and tell them you want to go to Village Tan Kah. If Village Tan Kah is not familiar to them, tell them is is just south of Casa Del Mar and across the street from Earnesto's. This should put them on the right track. They will then direct a driver to load your bags and take you to Village Tan Kah.
NOTE: Taxis are not allowed to pick up arriving passengers. All passengers must use the vans for the final lag of their journey to Cozumel hotels.
YES! Many of our guests land in Cancun. If you are willing to handle your bags a bit more and take a bit more travel time, you can save some money flying to Cancun. After landing you take a bus and a ferry ride to Cozumel.
It works like this:
Exit the airport. Pass ALL the booths and people offering transportation. Turn right after exiting and follow the sidewalk all the way to the end of the airport building. You will see an area with large coach-type buses (these are nice- with air-conditionaing and TV!). Buy a ticket to Playa Del Carmen, board and enjoy the trip through the heart of Riviera Maya. You will arrive at the bus terminal in Playa Del Carmen. You now need to go a couple of blocks to the ferry pier. You can hire a gentleman to cart your bags for you. Get you ticket for the ferry. If you have some time to kill, get a cerveza at Senor Frogs or Carlos & Charlies. Your in Mexico, BABY! Board the ferry and enjoy the sea air on your way to the island of Cozumel. Once arriving at the pier, walk to the street and hire one of the many taxis lined up there. Tel them to take you to Village Tan Kah (just south of Casa Del Mar and across the street from Earnesto's)
